Bernadette, Secondary Family & Consumer Science Teacher

Bernadette, a secondary Family & Consumer Science teacher, first used Superstructures as a bell ringer and immediately saw a shift in engagement. “Everybody was excited. Everybody's engaged, like, what is this? It's new,” she recalled, as students saw their responses appear on the screen in real time. The activity felt different from a traditional written warm-up, with students contributing more than once and building visible energy in the room.

She emphasized how accessible it was for students, explaining that “it was so easy. It was intuitive” and allowed everyone to quickly jump in and participate. Even students who typically didn’t raise their hands were able to share their thinking without calling attention to themselves, giving her a clearer view of what all students understood.

Bernadette also highlighted the consistency of participation, noting that “I’ve had 100% participation every time I’ve used Superstructures.” For her, what stands out is how easily students engage and how naturally it brings energy into the classroom.
